Brownsea Island Visit

We are privileged to be allowed on Brownsea Island during the winter when it is closed to the public, and we hope many members will take advantage of this opportunity.

On the 4th February Dorset Wildlife Trust are hosting a bird watching trip, there will be a considerable number of people attending, they will not be arriving on the Island until 10.30 so any member wishing to go into the hides overlooking the lagoon would be advised to go there first and vacate the hides when the others arrive.

On the lagoon we would hopefully see Avocets, possibly spoonbills and other winter visitors.

The National Trust launch will pick us up at 9 0’clock prompt and return us around 12.30.   We give a donation of £5.00 each divided between The National Trust and Dorset Wildlife Trust which will be collected on the morning of our visit.

We need at least 20 persons to make the visit worthwhile and it would be appreciated if you would book as soon as possible in order for the visit to be confirmed.  This is open to friends and family wishing to come.  There will be a limited number on the boat so book early to avoid disappointment.
