Solent Cruise – 1st to 3rd June 2018

This year’s Solent Cruise will visit the Royal Yacht Squadron in Cowes and the Royal Southern Yacht Club in Hamble.  Dinners (and breakfasts if booked) will be invoiced by the club, but you will need to pay your berthing fees in Cowes and Hamble on arrival.

On Friday night boats will be berthed at Cowes Yacht Haven and there will be a formal dinner at the Royal Yacht Squadron.  The RYS have also offered to give club members a fascinating ‘behind the scenes’ tour on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning.

On Saturday we leave for Hamble for a less formal dinner at the Royal Southern Yacht Club.  Berths have been reserved at Port Hamble Marina.

Booking forms are available from the office.

Classic Offshore Powerboat Club Rally – 2nd/3rd June 2018

The Classic Offshore Powerboat Club (COPC) will be visiting the club over the weekend of 2nd/3rd June.  Their 2016 rally to the RMYC was very popular and we expect to see a number of classic powerboats – both on water and on land.

2018 marks the 50th anniversary of the Triana 25 boats (which were built at Cogdean, near Wimborne) so COPC are hoping to see a some of these Levi designed boats making an appearance.  Keep an eye on the club noticeboard for an update a little nearer the time.

If you would like to join COPC for dinner at the RMYC on Saturday 2nd June please email:

Seagull Revival  – Friday 29th June 2018

This is undoubtedly one of the club’s most eccentric events – and one that has grown in popularity over the past couple of years!  Last year around 20 boats – all with British Seagull or Anzani outboards strapped to the back – left the RMYC in a huge cloud of blue smoke to circumnavigate Brownsea Island in the fastest possible time before returning to the Club for lunch!

So, why not search your garage or boat store to unearth that old engine and get it running in time for this year’s event?  Engines can be mounted on anything that will get you safely around the island.  Start time:  11:00 off the RMYC.

If you would like to join the Seagull Revival entrants for lunch on Friday 29th June please email:
