The Club is an active member of this scheme and volunteer members provide regular patrols in the club ribs.
Poole Harbour Watch was formed in 1995 with the objective of preventing crime on the harbour by running regular patrols both on the water and land based. We operate in conjunction with the marine police and through the clubs and organisations around the harbour. Our aim is to deter criminals and provide information that will help the police with prevention and detection of crime. Information provided by our organisation has been of value to the police on many occasions.
We are a non-confrontational organisation. We have patrols covering the whole of the harbour and we believe this has contributed to Poole Harbour having one of the lowest crime rates on the South Coast.
Our aim is to serve everyone who uses Poole Harbour making it a safe place for all. The more we can involve waterside residents and boat owners the more effective we can be. We endeavour to be the “eyes and ears” of the police. Prevention is better than cure.
If you are able to give some time and willing to volunteer please contact the club office
