Solent Cruise 2019

RMYC Solent Cruise

The 2019 Solent Cruise will take place over the weekend of 31 May to 2 June – and will be much more informal event this year.

On Friday night (31 May) we’ll meet up for dinner at The Folly Inn on the banks of the Medina River, just up river from Cowes. This popular pub probably needs no introduction as it’s been a favourite with the boating fraternity many years.   There will be an area set aside within The Folly for our party and a little nearer the date, we’ll ask you to pre-select your meal from the pub’s summer menu and pay a £5pp deposit.  We have reserved overnight berths on The Folly’s walk ashore and mid river moorings.

On Saturday night (1 June) we’ll be visiting Bucklers Hard Yacht Harbour on the beautiful Beaulieu River.  It has recently won a Marina of the Year award and dinner will be an informal two-course BBQ in the special RMYC pop-up restaurant within the yacht harbour.  Tickets for the two course meal will cost £31.50 per person, and you will need to bring your own liquid refreshments!  Berths have been reserved on the walk-ashore moorings at the marina.

In the event of bad weather, we will have to cancel the arrangements in Cowes, but I can confirm that Saturday night’s BBQ will definitely go ahead and a coach will be provided to take you from the RMYC to Bucklers Hard and back again.

You can choose to join us for both nights, or just one.   Both dinners are also open to Club members who don’t want to stay overnight and simply want to join in the fun at The Folly and/or Bucklers Hard.  We do, however, need a booking form for everyone so that we can make sure we are catering for the right number of people!
